Take it apart — every wash
Pull the silicone straw up and out of the lid.
Remove the outer silicone sipper from the lid body.
Flip the lid and press the inner seal out from underneath. The seal is deliberately clear silicone — if anything is left on it, you’ll see it.
That’s all five parts: glass, lid, sipper, seal, straw. Nothing else is hiding in there.
Wash
Every part is 100% top-rack dishwasher safe. Warm soapy water by hand works just as well — the Coconut Fibre Bamboo Cleaning Brush reaches the bottom of the 800ml glass easily.
Push an 8mm straw brush through the straw and flush the valve — the valve is where residue hides. After milk or smoothies, never skip the brush.
Dry before you reassemble — this is the mould step
Moisture sealed under the lid is what grows mould. Air-dry all parts (20–30 minutes) or towel-dry thoroughly before the lid goes back together — and never store the bottle assembled while damp.
Put it back together
Seat the clear inner seal flush into the underside of the lid, fit the outer sipper, then push the straw in from the top until it stops.
Honest note: the seal is a little tricky the first few times. With practice it’s an under-a-minute job — the video shows the knack.
Test: fill with water, close the lid, flip it over the sink. No drips means you’re done; a drip means the inner seal needs reseating.
Not suitable for carbonated drinks. Replace the straw if you notice discolouration, thinning, or a smell that doesn’t wash out — spare straws are in the Kaally Bottle Silicone Lid & Straw Set.
