Babies don’t drink the same way at six weeks as they do at sixteen months. The KaakaaBaby bottle was designed for that — one borosilicate glass body, one silicone sleeve, and a topper you swap as your little one grows.
This is the topper. Pick the one that suits the stage you’re in.
All six options are made from the same LFGB-certified food-grade silicone — one of the strictest standards in the EU — gentle on gums, soft on little mouths, and lead-free throughout. Each option comes as a set of 2, because one is always in the dishwasher when you need it.
Choose your topper
Original Straw (with valve) — the default, included free with every KaakaaBaby bottle The one your bottle comes with. An internal silicone valve keeps liquids from leaking when the bottle gets tipped, dropped, or upended (and it will). Best for everyday water, milk, and most everything you’d hand a toddler.
Open Straw (no valve) — for thicker drinks and faster sipping An O-shaped cut-out that lets liquids flow straight through. Designed for smoothies, yoghurt drinks, and toddlers who get frustrated with a slower draw. Not leak-proof, but still contains spills if the bottle tips. A quick angle trim with scissors lets you match it to your bottle’s ideal length.
Soft Silicone Spout (6m+) — for the bottle-to-cup transition A soft, gum-friendly spout designed for babies starting to learn open-cup drinking without the deluge. Ideal as a stepping stone between teat and straw — or as a backup for the days nothing else is going down.
Slow Flow Teat (0m+) — for newborns and gentle feeders The slowest of the three teats. Suitable from newborn, designed to mimic the pace and effort of breastfeeding. Good for babies who’d rather not be rushed.
Medium Flow Teat (3m+) — for steady, consistent feeds A more confident flow for babies who’ve found their rhythm. Suits daytime feeds, hungry babies, and the moments when slow flow just isn’t keeping up.
Fast Flow Teat (6m+) — for older bubs and bottle-to-cup transitions The fastest of the three. Built for stronger suckling reflexes and older babies — especially helpful if you’re easing off the breast or weaning towards open cup.
What you get
- Set of 2 of your chosen topper
- LFGB-certified food-grade silicone, lead-free, low-tox
- Wide-neck compatible — fits the KaakaaBaby bottle and most popular wide-neck brands including Pigeon, Avent, and Minbie
- Suitable for warm soapy water, dishwasher (top rack), and steriliser
Compatibility
Designed to fit the KaakaaBaby Glass Bottle (270mL) lid. Also fits most wide-neck baby bottles using the same standard — Pigeon, Avent, Minbie, and similar — so if you’ve already got teats your baby loves from another brand, our bottle will take them too.
Care
Wash with warm soapy water, or run through the dishwasher (top rack). Steriliser safe. We recommend replacing teats and spouts every 2–3 months with regular use, or sooner if you spot any thinning or discolouration — silicone is hardy, but it’s still a soft material in a baby’s mouth.
Materials, in plain language
- Silicone: LFGB-certified food-grade — one of the strictest standards in the EU
- Lead-free, low-tox throughout
- Independently tested
- BPA-free, phthalate-free, PVC-free
A small honest note
If you’re trying to figure out which teat your baby needs, the answer is usually “the next one up from the one that’s making them frustrated.” Babies aren’t shy about telling you when a flow is wrong — they pull off, fuss, or fall asleep on the bottle. Start with whichever flow matches their age, watch them for a feed or two, and move up if they’re working harder than they should be.
We can’t tell you which topper is right from a product page. But we can tell you that switching is cheap, fast, and not a sign you’ve got it wrong — it’s a sign your baby is growing.
